Actually the solution is easy, just ask all our parishioners and supporters to give more!

This is not as drastic as it may sound as there are a number of ways that the church can increase its income without significantly affecting our current supporters.

Planned Giving
It is easy to decide to give a certain amount of money to the church on a weekly basis, but much more difficult to actually remember to do it! The best solution is a Standing Order for bank to bank transfer each month. You may forget but the bank won't!

Gift Aid.
Anyone that pays UK income tax can arrange for the church to recover 28p for every Ł1 that is donated. It only requires one form to be signed and Gift Aid can be made by Standing Order to the St Nicholas Church account.

Support.
This is getting more people involved and supporting the church. This does not necessarily mean going to church each Sunday (although a full church would be lovely) but by supporting church functions such as our annual Riverside Fair at the end of June. The Friends' of St Nicholas Church is set up as an association to encourage people to support and help the church in this way.
